This is an old example of the species, estimated to be over 75 years old.

    The tree is striking within its location and makes a major contribution to the landscape. Its canopy combines with neighbouring trees to provide a stunning leafy archway over the walking path. It has an attractive multi-stemmed form and is an outstanding example of the species for the local area.
