This large Cabbage Tree sits prominently as a major feature at the northwest entrance to Caulfield Park. It is a particularly old and large example of the species to be found within Glen Eira and the surrounding area, with an outstanding canopy spread.

The tree makes a substantial aesthetic contribution to this premier park within the municipality as well as the wider surrounding neighbourhood. Its form provides a high degree of visual appeal, with interesting branch structure, leaf shape and a canopy wider than it is tall.

Based on its age, health, size and prominence, this is an outstanding example of the species at the regional level.
