This large mature Southern Mahogany Gum is a particularly large example of the species to be found within this municipality and the urban environment in general. Large gum trees such as this species rarely have the opportunity, space and resources to grow to its full potential. This specimen located in a public park has been able to reach a height of over 26m, with a trunk girth of 5.5m around at its base.

The tree is a landmark and major feature of the park, making a substantial contribution to the local landscape and providing amenity to the community.
