Statement of significance:

This tree fulfils the criteria of:

  • Aesthetic value

This large, healthy and mature Camphor Laurel is one of the more impressive canopy trees within the local vicinity, with a high visual presence from the public realm. The tree is striking in the landscape and makes a major contribution to the neighbourhood character and provides substantial amenity to the community.

Although only qualifying for the register under Aesthetic Value, the tree is still a large specimen which provides habitat and roosting for native wildlife and birds. The value of this tree is particularly heightened following the loss of numerous canopy trees in the local area due to level crossing removal works.
