This year’s live music lineup brings together a vibrant mix of indie pop, folk and soul:
Acoustic folk artist James Franklin is known for heartfelt storytelling shaped by over a decade of touring across Australia and the United States. He has opened for acts including 5 Seconds of Summer and Daryl Braithwaite, and continues to carve a distinctive path with evocative, sincere songwriting.
Esencia is a quartet of brilliant Melbourne musicians exploring their love of Latin music. Featuring Jack Howard (Hunters & Collectors) on trumpet and vocals, the brilliant Heather Michael (flute and vocals) and Amy Valent Curlis (percussion) from Jack’s great Bacharach & Beyond project; and acclaimed Flamenco guitarist Kieran Ray, the group plays classic songs from Astor Piazzolla, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Mendes, Burt Bacharach, Chick Corea and many more.
Naarm/Melbourne-based and internationally raised, Alisya Rae brings soul-driven R&B paired with undeniable vocals. Her music explores heartbreak with an empowering edge, blending vulnerability and strength in every performance.
David Gdanski is a seasoned full time musician with over 20 years’ experience, having toured extensively across China and Australia. From cover and original bands to studio collaborations, David’s musical journey is diverse and dynamic. Now performing as a solo acoustic artist, he showcases a powerful vocal range through an eclectic blend of ’80s, ’90s and modern rock classics.
Harriet Wraith, emerging from the heart of Naarm’s indie music scene, brings an ever‑evolving sound that blends jazz‑infused soul and rock. Drawing inspiration from Fleetwood Mac, Amy Winehouse and Julia Jacklin, her music weaves haunting melodies, gritty guitar and introspective lyrics that explore love, loss and self‑discovery. Following the release of her debut solo EP Smith/Alexandra in 2024 and her 2025 single Courtney Love, Harriet has performed at major events including ABC’s Friday Revue at the Recital Centre and the Port Fairy Folk Festival—earning praise from ABC’s Claire Mooney as “passionate and full of drama”.
Ethan Conway knows how to hold a room with nothing but his acoustic guitar, a loop pedal and his velvety vocals. With raspy lows and silky falsetto, Ethan’s soulful voice is sure to captivate his audience. Whether he opts for his acoustic, electric or plays with a full band, his energy on stage is contagious.
