Council’s CEO Rebecca McKenzie and I recently met with local Labor, Liberal and Greens candidates from the Divisions of Higgins, Hotham, Goldstein and Macnamara to discuss Glen Eira’s future priorities in the lead up to the Federal Election on Saturday 18 May.
To be held from 6.30pm to 10pm at Bentleigh McKinnon Youth Centre, Higgins Road, Bentleigh, this annual event provides musicians and vocalists the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.
Performers have been selected by the YLT to play at the event. They will be in the running to win two days of recording in Youth Services Plugged In music studio with a professional sound engineer who will record, mix and master their tracks.
On the night, members of the public will be able to have their say and register a vote for the People’s Choice Award.
One of the finalists may also be selected to perform at one of Council’s Party in the Park events in 2020.
The 2019 Sounds of Glen Eira is a fully supervised drug, alcohol and smoke-free event.
Everyone is welcome to come along. Bags will be checked at the door, and there are no pass-outs for people under 18 years.
