The business to be transacted at this meeting will be to elect a Mayor and to elect a Deputy Mayor.

OATH OF OFFICE AND DISCLOSURE OF INTEREST
The temporary Chairperson reminded Councillors that we remain bound by our Oath of Office to
undertake the duties of the office of Councillor in the best interests of the people of the municipal district of Glen Eira and to faithfully and impartially carry out the functions, powers,
authorities and discretions vested in us under the Local Government Act or any other Act, to the best of our skill and judgement.
Councillors are also reminded of the requirement for disclosure of conflicts of interest in relation
to items listed for consideration on the Agenda, or which are considered at this meeting, in
accordance with Sections 77 to 79 of the Local Government Act
ELECTION OF THE MAYOR
4.1 ELECTION OF THE MAYOR
The Chief Executive Officer presided over the election of Mayor pursuant to Sections 211
and 212 of Council’s Local Law and in accordance with Section 71 of the Local
Government Act 1989.
The Chief Executive Officer called for nominations for candidates for election as Mayor.
Nomination 1 - Cr Magee nominated Cr Delahunty for the role of Mayor
Cr Delahunty accepted the nomination.
Nomination 2 - Cr Sztrajt nominated Cr Athanasopoulos for the role of Mayor
Cr Athanasopoulos accepted the nomination.
Cr Delahunty spoke in support of her nomination.
Cr Athanasopoulos spoke in support of his nomination.
Cr Delahunty received 4 votes
Cr Athanasopoulos received 5 votes
ELECTION OF THE DEPUTY MAYOR
The Chief Executive Officer presided over the election of Deputy Mayor pursuant to
Sections 211 and 213 of Council’s Local Law and in accordance with Section 71 of the
Local Government Act 1989.
The Chief Executive Officer called for nominations for candidates for election as Deputy Mayor.
Nomination 1 Cr Magee nominated Cr Davey for the role of Deputy Mayor
Cr Davey accepted the nomination.
Nomination 2 Cr Sztrajt nominated Cr Hyams for the role of Deputy Mayor
Cr Hyams accepted the nomination.
Nomination 3 Cr Delahunty nominated Cr Taylor for the role of Deputy
Mayor.
Cr Taylor accepted the nomination.
Cr Davey spoke in support of her nomination.
Cr Hyams spoke in support of his nomination.
Cr Taylor spoke in support of her nomination.
Cr Davey received 2 votes.
Cr Hyams received 5 votes.
Cr Taylor received 2 votes.
