This is a particularly large and old example of this common native species within Glen Eira, with an impressive trunk girth and full, spreading canopy. It is the largest tree in the street which is predominantly planted with the same species.

The tree makes a striking contribution to the local landscape, providing amenity and enhancing the neighbourhood character.

Residents have noted that the tree supports a range of native wildlife particularly when flowering and in fruit, such as rainbow lorikeets, tawny frogmouths, ringtail possums and fruit bats.
