More about Jack Howard

Jack Howard played trumpet with the legendary Hunters & Collectors, and throughout his career, he’s performed or recorded with an impressive roster of artists including The Violent Femmes, Rodriguez, Tex Perkins, The Living End, Kate Ceberano, and many more.

In 2017, Jack toured the world with Midnight Oil as their multi-instrumentalist. Widely respected in the industry, he’s been described as “one of the great quiet achievers of Australian music.” He remains the only trumpeter in the ARIA Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame.

For over two decades, Jack has also been creating and releasing his own music. In 2020, he published his musical memoir, Small Moments of Glory, and the CD, Dog songs, recorded with his band of Long Lost Brothers. Their sound blends driving rhythms, chiming guitars, swooping pedal steel, and Jack’s soulful vocals and signature horn work. His songwriting captures his world with clarity and poetry, offering that unmistakable Australian lift and lilt when the chorus hits.

More recently, Jack has ventured into new musical territory with two electronica releases — Lightheavyweights 1 & 2.
