Festive season hours
Glen Eira Town Hall and the Service Centre
Glen Eira Town Hall and the Service Centre will close at 3pm on Wednesday 24 December and Wednesday 31 December.
We will be closed on the following public holidays:
- Thursday 25 December, Christmas Day
- Friday 26 December, Boxing Day
- Thursday 1 January, New Year's Day

Waste and recycling services
Put your bins out on the same day of the week as normal — even if it’s a public holiday. Our garbage, recycling and green waste collections operate Monday to Friday, including all public holidays.
Hard rubbish, bundled branch and bulk cardboard collections
The last Hard Rubbish collection for 2025 will be Friday, 19 December. Collections will recommence from Monday, 5 January 2026.
The last Bundled Branch collection before Christmas will be Wednesday 17 December. Collections will resume Wednesday 31 December.
The last Bulk Cardboard collection before Christmas will be Tuesday 16 December. Collections will resume Tuesday 30 December.
