Camden Ward Councillor Simone Zmood was elected at the 2020 Local Government election. Cr Simone Zmood was elected Deputy Mayor for the 2023–24 Council year.

Cr Zmood grew up in Glen Eira and is a long-term resident of Camden Ward. She has made her home just down the road from where her great-grandparents lived and is happily raising a family of four children with her husband.
Simone is a management consultant and high-level strategist consulting to multinationals, ASX200 companies, government-owned corporations, start-ups, and not-for-profit. She has experience in strategic planning and performance management within more than 20 industries.
Simone has years of governance, strategy, and financial experience in community groups and on boards. This includes multiple roles as Treasurer, chair of a charitable trust, and chair of a finance, audit, and risk committee. She is currently Treasurer of the Mathematics Education Research Group of Australasia.
Cr Zmood is passionate about building on Glen Eira’s strengths to further enhance the opportunities for locals to have healthy and deeply satisfying lives within our municipality, supported by appropriate services and facilities, and an inclusive, well-connected community.
