Community Place Project 2025–2026
Got an idea to brighten up your neighbourhood? We want to hear it.
Got an idea for a small project that could make a big difference in your neighbourhood? Share it with us — and let’s work together to bring it to life.
We’re seeking creative, community-led ideas to enhance Glen Eira’s activity centres — our busy local hubs where people meet, shop, and access local services — and where your project can have the greatest impact.
Your project should reflect local needs and interests, helping to create public spaces that are vibrant, welcoming, and safe for everyone.
The Community Place Project is a part of our Placemaking Strategy, which turns community ideas into real improvements. Last year, we received 31 incredible submissions, and five local projects are already complete.
Submissions are open until Sunday 28 September 2025 — so now’s the time to get involved.

Managing pets in Glen Eira
We’re developing a new Domestic Animal Management Plan for 2026–2029.
We’re developing a new Domestic Animal Management Plan (the Plan) to guide how we manage dogs and cats in Glen Eira from 2026 to 2029.
Pets are an important part of life for many Glen Eira residents, and they bring joy, companionship and connection.
In 2024–25, we’ve registered over 12,000 dogs and 4,000 cats — so we know how much our residents care about their furry family members.
But when not well managed, animals can also cause nuisance or safety concerns. That’s why it’s important to have a clear and balanced approach that reflects our community’s needs and expectations.
Whether you own a pet or not, we want to hear your ideas, experiences and concerns — to make sure the new Plan reflects our whole community.
Have your say by Wednesday 1 October 2025.
