Glen Eira Multicultural Youth Network

Help explore the challenges facing multicultural young people in Glen Eira.

Glen Eira Multicultural Youth Network (GEMYN) was established in November 2019 to address and identify issues faced by Multicultural Youth within Glen Eira.

Members will include young people aged 16 to 25, from a range of faiths, cultures and backgrounds who live, work or study in the City of Glen Eira.

Over the next 12 months GEMYN will be looking at delivering some exciting new initiatives such as:

  • Welcome to Glen Eira events for those newly arrived who want to meet new people in their community.
  • Creating videos that raise awareness of the challenges faced by multicultural youth.
  • Exploring new training and support opportunities for multicultural young people.

The Glen Eira Melting Pot cookbook

Glen Eira is full of many amazing and diverse multicultural communities. We would like to celebrate our diversity through a brand-new initiative called The GE Melting Pot.

This will be a cookbook made up of different cultural meals that are enjoyed and hold special meaning to young people and their families in Glen Eira.

We invite you to submit one of your family favourite or culturally favourite meals to be shared in this book.

If you have any questions, contact youth services on 9524 3676 or email us at youthservices@gleneira.vic.gov.au

If you’re an international student, born overseas or newly arrived and want to make a difference in your community, we would like to hear from you.
