Batteries (other)

Other batteries (power tools etc.), including: Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium Ion (Li-Ion), can be recycled for free at Battery World, Bunnings (Oakleigh South), and the Bayside and Port Phillip waste transfer stations. The batteries are then recycled by Envirostream Australia.

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 8am–4pm.

Process

Drop off on site during opening hours. Sort and separate to avoid fees.

Port Phillip Resource Recovery Centre

Location: 56 White Street, South Melbourne.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am–3.30pm, and Saturday to Sunday, 9am–1pm (closed public holidays).

Process

Drop off on site during opening hours. Sort and separate to avoid fees.

Batteries can also be recycled for free at Battery World and Bunnings (Oakleigh South).

Please note: Batteries should not go in any of your kerbside collection bins.
