Approved Amendment

Council undertook a heritage review of the Murrumbeena Village Precinct (Precinct) and subsequently lodged a request for interim heritage controls for the Precinct with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, whilst a formal planning scheme amendment process for permanent protection was undertaken.

The Minister for Planning has now approved interim heritage protection in response to Council’s request, but only for one property in the Precinct and not the Precinct as a whole. An interim Heritage Overlay is now in place for 430-432 Neerim Road and is valid until 31 March 2021.

This Amendment was gazetted on 23 April 2020.
