The diverse collecting themes that have shaped Council’s art collection since 1975 are surveyed in this exhibition: suburban themes that reflect resident’s lifestyles; the work of significant Australian artists; works by members of the Boyd family who lived and worked in Murrumbeena; and works by local artists.

The exhibition features mid-20th century Australian pottery by Guy Boyd, Lucy Boyd Beck and Hatton Beck donated to Council’s art collection in 2019. Also featured are sculptures by Jock Clutterbuck, Alisa O’Connor, Ian Hanna, Dan Wollmering and works by Ivan Durrant, Jon Campbell, Fred Williams, Arthur Boyd, Brett Whiteley, Howard Arkley, George Johnston, Jane Burton, Erica McGilchrist, Ponch Hawkes, Linda Wachtel and Wolfgang Sievers.
