Everyday Conversations — Active Bystander community training

Reducing and preventing family violence and gender inequality in our community is a priority of ours. As part of the Respect Is — 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, we are providing community members with an opportunity to develop skills as an active bystander.

These everyday conversation skills will assist you to know how to approach and intervene to prevent violence from happening in the future.

This 2.5 hour session provided by No to Violence, a specialist peak body in the prevention of family violence helps you become an active and safe bystander, by providing an opportunity for you to:

  • unpack the gendered drivers of family violence
  • explore how gender inequality is reinforced through ordinary interactions
  • look to how we can all contribute to social change
  • explore a range of practical skills for inviting reflection and change from your peers.

This workshop is suitable for all members of our community interested in contributing to learning more about gender equality and preventing family violence. No previous experience or prior knowledge is needed to take part.
