The tree is of outstanding size for this species within Glen Eira for its height and trunk girth and based on this size it is considered to be a particularly old example.

The tree is a prominent feature of the park, providing substantial visual appeal and amenity to visitors. Due to its location, it has been allowed to maintain a nice natural and full canopy all the way to the ground. As such, given its health, form, and age, this is an outstanding example of the species at the local level.
