Two of Melbourne's most renowned art galleries are right here in Glen Eira. Located at Monash University's Caulfield Campus, MADA Gallery and Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA) are breaking exciting ground in the art scene.

MADA Gallery

MADA Gallery is the public face of Monash Art Design and Architecture (MADA). It's dedicated to excellence in exhibitions and research, and acts as a key teaching aid for MADA students and staff.

MADA's program addresses the local, national and international scene with a range of media including tapestry, printmedia, ceramics, jewellery, photo-media, industrial design, digital media and installation. This highlights the university's strengths in research and cultural production.

Opening hours during exhibitions

Wednesday to Friday 10am–5pm
Saturday 12pm–5pm

Admission is free.

Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA)

As a key public art museum within Australia’s largest tertiary institution, MUMA links the university, the art world and the wider community.

Through its focus upon contemporary art since the 1960s, MUMA aims to be a dynamic site for cultural production, pedagogy and participation — through exhibitions, collection development, curatorial research, and academic and community engagement.

MUMA is adventurous in its support of new art and ideas, and has a vision to become an international centre of excellence in contemporary visual art.

Operating from the art, design and architecture precinct on Monash’s Caulfield campus, MUMA makes a valuable contribution to the community.

Saturday 12–5pm

Admission is free and the gallery is wheelchair-accessible.
