About the committee

The committee is made up of up to 12 people who represent our diverse cultural, ethnic, linguistic and faith communities. It also includes up to nine representatives from agencies and organisations that support people from diverse cultural backgrounds, as well as four Glen Eira City Councillors and Council officers.

We are committed to engaging with our multicultural community. This advisory committee is assisting us to enhance and support the way we communicate and engage with every resident and business, so we can hear every voice and make the best decisions for those who live and work in Glen Eira.

The Glen Eira Multicultural Advisory Committee offers advice to Council about our activities, communications, recognition and celebration of our culturally diverse community. Participating on the Multicultural Advisory Committee as an organisational representative is a special way to add your voice to discussions of important matters relating to Glen Eira’s multicultural community.

Please be aware that if you are successful in being selected to the Multicultural Advisory Committee all Council records, including the agenda and reports of the Committee, are subject to requests under the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
