Dear election candidate

As a resident of your electorate, I support the Glen Eira City Council’s calls for more state funding to deliver new or improve existing open space for our community.

Right now, Glen Eira has the least open space per person of any municipality in Melbourne with 1.3 hectares per 1,000 residents.

There are major opportunities across the Bentleigh, Caulfield and Oakleigh electorates for you to work with Council to create new open space and upgrade our existing open space.

In the Bentleigh electorate, a $3 million commitment would fast track new open space development at Mackie Road Reserve.

In the Caulfield electorate, we need reliable funding for community infrastructure on Crown land at the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve.

In the Oakleigh electorate, $4 million commitment would turn a Council-owned site into a new public open space in Carnegie. $1.2 million would fund an upgrade to Boyd Park playground, including a new public toilet facility.

I hope to see you publicly announce your commitment to delivering funding for the open space projects in your electorate, should your party win government at the election.
