Council is developing a Local Area Traffic Management Plan for Elsternwick South, focused on the area around College Street, St James Parade and around the Leibler Yavneh College. The aim of this work is to try to address unnecessary through traffic, create a safer environment for walkers and riders and explore opportunities for greenery.
A small number of traffic treatments have been developed, located at pivotal points in the neighbourhood. The treatments are designed to work together and have been put together into a plan.
Council has developed two alternative concept plans and is seeking feedback from the Elsternwick community on which option is preferred and why. Community input will help us in formulating the next steps in the project, moving from concept to detail design.
The consultation closes Monday 5 July 2021.
