In 2011, Council prepared a Dog Off-leash Areas in the City of Glen Eira report.
To ensure that available areas still meet the needs of both dog owners and other park users, we are currently undertaking a review of this report. The review aims to retain existing dog off-leash areas, whilst recognising the addition of the exclusive dog off-leash park on the western side of Caulfield Racecourse.
Further to this, we have identified additional opportunities for dog off-leash areas within Glen Eira, and seek your feedback on these suggestions.
Visit www.haveyoursaygleneira.com.au/DogOffLeash to complete a short survey that focuses on:
- awareness of dog off-leash areas and their use
- open space areas to be considered as new off-leash use areas
- public lighting of off-leash parks and reserves
- public signage in Glen Eira parks and reserves.
While most of our open space is a mixture of active and passive recreation, our aim is to provide an appropriate balance of dog off-leash and dog on-leash areas — and we require your input to ensure this is achieved.
The opportunity to provide feedback is available until Monday 30 September 2019.
