Appeal a public health infringement

Business proprietors or staff who wish to appeal a decision made by Council may submit an appeal to have the matter internally reviewed.

The following statutory decisions may be reviewed or appealed:

  • inspection result
  • inspection fee
  • penalty infringement notice
  • written order
  • seizure order
  • closure order
  • registration decision.

Proprietors that wish to apply for a review or appeal are required to apply in writing within 14 days of the original decision being made.

All appeals shall be conducted with 28 days of the appeal being lodged with Council and the findings of the review shall be issued to the registered proprietor of the business or staff member in writing.
