Inkerman Road safe cycling corridor project

Glen Eira City Council resolved to abandon a safe cycling corridor project along Inkerman Road at its meeting on 22 November 2022.

This decision follows extensive technical assessments, community consultation and stakeholder feedback.

Council would like to thank everyone who has been involved in providing input and feedback on the project, including the community reference group who have shared their views since it commenced in 2019. Council adopted its Integrated Transport Strategy in 2018 to find ways of encouraging the community to use different modes of transport other than driving, for the benefit of all.

While the Inkerman Road project was not supported, Council remains committed to investigating opportunities to improve safety for cyclists in Glen Eira.
