Entries for 2020 My Brother Jack Awards to close 7 September

The My Brother Jack Awards have been uncovering and celebrating local writing talent for 25 years.

There is still time to enter the 2020 Awards, which close on Monday 7 September.

Prizes will be awarded for short stories and poetry in the categories of Primary; Junior Secondary; Senior Secondary; and Open.

Glen Eira Mayor Cr Margaret Esakoff said in these uncertain times, creative writing and the literary arts can be deeply therapeutic — a way to express fears, hopes and joys.

“Writing can help us reflect, form new ideas, express our creativity, and make sense of the world and our place in it,” she said. “These are the stories that shape our community.”

Take your storytelling to the next level and enter today. Visit library.gleneira.vic.gov.au/mbj
