Bluestone reconstruction policy

Have your say on Glen Eira’s draft Bluestone laneway and kerb and channel reconstruction policy.

Glen Eira City Council owns and manages many bluestone assets in the road reserves, including original pitcher and sawn bluestone within laneways and kerbs and channels in streets.

Bluestone laneways and kerbs and channels are an integral part of the amenity and heritage of Glen Eira.

The draft Policy is intended to replace the existing Street and Laneway Design and Construction Policy 2013.

The proposed draft Policy applies to the reconstruction of laneways and kerbs and channels in road reserves.

Council wants to hear residents’ views about how important it is to preserve the bluestone in laneways and streets in non-heritage areas for the future.

We are now asking for your feedback on Glen Eira’s draft Bluestone Laneway and Kerb and Channel Reconstruction Policy with a view to replacing the current Policy.

The draft Bluestone Laneway and Kerb and Channel Reconstruction Policy is available on Council’s Have Your Say website at www.haveyoursaygleneira.com.au

You can also provide feedback via email to engineering@gleneira.vic.gov.au

The consultation will close on Sunday 19 April 2020. For further information, please contact Council’s Infrastructure Asset team on 9524 3333.
