Personal Carer (Residential Aged Care)

  • $36.35 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) + superannuation

About the role
We are currently seeking compassionate and professional Personal Carers to join our Residential Services Team.

As a Personal Carer you will assist and support residents with various activities of daily living in a way that contributes positively to their quality of life.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Personal care for residents
  • Lifting and manual handling
  • Dementia/behaviour management
  • Continence management
  • Pain management
  • Restraint and safety
  • Palliative care
  • Skin care
  • Nutrition and hydration
  • Psychosocial, spiritual and cultural needs

Casual Employment
Casuals work on an "as required" basis to help cover absences, peak periods and other short-term requirements at Glen Eira's aged care facility, Warrawee Community.

As a casual employee, you will be notified regarding any casual opportunities available. There is no guarantee of ongoing work with Council

About you
To be successful in this role, you will be a positive team player with recent experience in residential aged care. You will have the best interest for our residents, treating them with empathy and kindness.

You will have:

  • A minimum of Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent
  • Moderate level of physical fitness
  • Demonstrated awareness of the health needs of the elderly
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) and the Commonwealth Standards and Guidelines
  • The ability to work as part of a team

Please note the successful candidate must be willing to undergo a police records check and pre-employment medical for the purpose of employment.

In accordance with government requirements, the successful candidate must provide evidence they have received an approved COVID-19 vaccination or authorised medical exemption and Seasonal Influenza Immunisation.

Warrawee Community offers a home-like environment for our residents, comprising of six single storey houses surrounded by lush gardens and grounds. The community is made up of 90 beautifully appointed single rooms featuring a bedroom with ensuite. Warrawee provides peace of mind for its residents whatever care level they choose.
