About the role
We are seeking a passionate, customer focussed and team oriented Principal Urban Planner who is looking for a unique workplace that focusses on your individual career development in a supportive and dynamic environment.

You to help lead the key planning projects within Glen Eira and to provide support to an engaged team of statutory planners, subdivision and enforcement officers and support staff. You will contribute to an outcomes driven service and together we will help make it fun and rewarding along the way.

Urban Planning works as a team to deliver a professional, customer centric and solutions focussed planning service. In the role you will work within an engaged team of planners, subdivision and enforcement officers and support and work on a range of planning applications and requests, appeals at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. At the same time, you will have access to training and development that is specific to your development needs, and you will be supported to grow yourself and your leadership capabilities.
 

About you

Skills and Experience

  • a tertiary qualification in town planning or a related field
  • extensive experience and demonstrated expertise in town planning practice, preferably in local government
  • great communication, time management and prioritisation skills
  • a focus on delivering great results as part of a team

Important information
In order to best manage the selection process, all short listed candidates will be contacted before 5pm on Friday, 5 November 2021, to arrange an interview.  The interviews will take place by video conference. The interviews will take place on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, 10 November 2021, between 9am and 5pm
  • Thursday, 11 November 2021, between 9am and 5pm

Please note that applicants must undergo and maintain a satisfactory police check.

Where positions are considered an 'authorised worker' or otherwise have to attend on site, in accordance with government requirements the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate evidence of an approved COVID-19 vaccination or authorised medical exemption (first dose required by 15 Oct, second dose by 26 Nov).
