Paying your rates

Glen Eira City Council rates are payable by four instalments during the year.  The instalment due dates are as follows: 

  1. 30 September 2018
  2. 30 November 2018
  3. 28 February 2019
  4. 31 May 2019

If, for convenience, you wish to pay all instalments in advance by 30 September, you may.

You can pay your rates through:

Online and telephone payments

Payments can online from credit cards at Secure online payments

Payments can be made by phone using your credit card.

You can use a Mastercard or Visa card.

The phone payment line is a 24 hour service, available from most phones. Calls are charged at the cost of a local call (mobiles extra).

Payments made by phone are recorded on statements as ‘Glen Eira City Council’.

Direct debit — 10 monthly payment option

Make paying your Glen Eira City Council rates and charges simple and more manageable.

With our direct debit option, 10 equal instalment payments are deducted from your credit card or nominated bank account on the first working day of the month commencing in September.

 Remember, once registered there is no need to keep track of due dates or worry about late payments.

*Any arrears from previous financial years must be cleared before this option can be activated.

** If you are already on direct debit from your bank account there is no need to reapply unless you wish to switch to credit card or if your bank account details have changed you will need to reapply using this form.

Any amendments to account details need to be received on the Direct Debit Request form at least 14 days before the next debit day. In the event that ratepayers wish to cancel their direct debit arrangement with us, written authority needs to be received at least 14 days before the next debit day.

Australia Post

You can pay at any post office or post office agency across Australia by cash, cheque or EFTPOS. You must present the rates notice intact to make your payment.

Use the information contained on your rate notice: BPAY Biller Code 73106 and your 13-digit reference number.


You can make payments directly from your credit card, cheque or savings account using BPAY. You will need to enter the biller code and BPAY reference number as detailed on your rate and valuation notice.

Payment by mail

Detach the payment slip from the rate notice and mail with payment to:
