Murrumbeena Reserve

Murrumbeena Reserve playground

Murrumbeena Reserve was first established in 1912 and has a lovely boulevard of trees from Gerald Street.

The western sportsground and play space are on-leash areas. This also includes the area around the pavilion and open space that links to Gerald Street.

Dog leash information

There are two off leash areas located in the park. The eastern oval and area to the north and east of this oval are off leash areas. The playground area is on leash as to are the access points from Kangaroo Road into the playground. The area to the west of the playground along Kangaroo Road is also off leash, this extends from the centre access point on Kangaroo Road to the western boundary and to the north short of the rotundas.

  • Glen Eira has designated areas (marked with green off-leash signs) in some parks that are off-leash areas.
  • Dogs must be on-leash at all times outside of your home unless within an off-leash area.
  • Dogs must also be under effective voice control at all times and kept on a leash that does not exceed 1.5 metres in length when within 20 metres of barbeques and picnic areas, children's playgrounds, sporting events, sportsground preparation and organised public meetings.
