Gardenvale Park expansion works

Gardenvale Park

Gardenvale Park has just gotten bigger with a project to convert adjacent land into new open space now complete.

The project has created 500m2 of additional open space and has allowed for the introduction of new lawn areas, garden beds, seating and tree planting.

This has been built around the strong natural features of established gum trees and garden beds.  New plantings are a mix of native and exotic species which will provide both habitat for fauna and interesting and robust green space. A separate narrow granitic pathway through the garden beds provides an informal and playful connection through to the existing park rotunda.

The project is part of Council’s Open Space Strategy and is a tangible outcome of Council’s support and focus on providing more and better open space for residents.
