Dressing Australia — Museum of Costume: Be Persuaded — Jane Austen
Tuesday, 13 November 2018 | 10:00 AM
to 05:00 PM
25 October–17 November
This exhibition brings the literary icon Jane Austen to life, through a fascinating selection of rare fashion, accessories and ephemera from the 18th century and the Regency era. Highlights include an 18th century silk gown, diaphanous Empire line frocks, spencers, capes and shawls, bonnets, parasols, and rare hand painted watercolours documenting fashion from the 1790s to 1840. Children and adults can step back in time and play with games and toys that were popular during Jane Austen’s childhood.
