On Wednesday 9 January, the Victorian Electoral Commission conducted the countback for the extraordinary vacancy in Tucker Ward created by Cr Nina Taylor’s resignation from Glen Eira City Council.

Anne-Marie Cade was duly elected and was officially sworn in as a Councillor on Thursday 10 January.

Glen Eira Mayor Cr Jamie Hyams welcomed Cr Cade and said she is joining Council at a very exciting time.

“As a local small business owner and solicitor whose candidate statement identified many of the issues of concern to Glen Eira residents, I am sure Cr Cade will make a positive impact very quickly,” he said.

“My fellow Councillors and I look forward to working with Cr Cade as we continue to deliver the community’s vision for this great City.”

Cr Hyams thanked Nina Taylor for her contributions and achievements during her time at Council.

“Nina was a dedicated and values driven Councillor who worked hard to represent the interests of the residents of Tucker Ward and the wider municipality,” Cr Hyams said.

“Council congratulates and thanks Nina for her contributions and achievements and wishes her every success in her new role as Member for Southern Metropolitan Region. We look forward to Nina’s continued representation and support now that she has been elected to the Parliament of Victoria.”
