Volunteer recognition

The Volunteer Recognition Program acknowledges the important role volunteers play in the health and wellbeing of our local community and their contribution towards “making a world of difference”, the theme of National Volunteer Week for 2019.

Volunteers play an important role in improving the quality of community life and in building a stronger and more cohesive community.

Not-for-profit community-based organisations and groups are encouraged to nominate volunteers across seven categories; 500, 1,000 or 2,000 hours of service, or for a special award acknowledging either 10, 20, 30 or 40 years of continuous voluntary service.

Council will publicly celebrate and thank our volunteers at an event held during National Volunteer Week, beginning on 20 May 2019.

Guidelines along with instructions for the online nomination form are available to download below.

Please follow the instructions to register your organisation for access to the nomination form, available on the SmartyGrants website at https://gleneira.smartygrants.com.au/
