Dog training providers

Training your dog, particularly from an early age, will help your dog to socialise not only with other dogs, but people too. Dogs are very similar to children and need to learn right from wrong.

Training will help them to learn some simple manners and household rules as well as basic commands, such as sit, walk, come and drop.

Whether you have just purchased a new puppy or have had a dog for years, dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds will benefit from training.

Dog training not only teaches the dog how to behave better, but it will teach the owners the skills and strategies required to help prevent and minimise conflict.

As a dog owner, one of the responsibilities you have is ensuring that your dog is well behaved and remains under effective control at all times when in public places.

Proper training can:

  • assist you in effectively controlling your dog;
  • help to prevent any incidents from occurring between dogs in off-leash areas; and
  • help to ensure the safety and comfort of other residents who may be using the park or public space.

Several dog training providers operate in Glen Eira and nearby municipalities, if you wish to qualify for the reduced registration fees for obedience trained dogs incentive, ensure you use an approved training organisation. For further information visit the obedience trained dogs incentive program webpage.
