Annie and Arthur Abrahams Reserve
Annie and Arthur Abrahams Reserve is an attractive local park in Bentleigh East, located in a beautifully landscaped neighbourhood. The park was once owned by Rayon and Silk Printers whose factory extended from north of the park border to North Road. In an agreement between Council and the factory, a portion of land on the corner of Blenheim and Anarth Streets would be transferred to Council and maintained as a reserve. The agreement prescribed that the reserve should be known as Annie and Arthur Abrahams Reserve after the Director of Rayon, Arthur Abrahams.
The factory was sold in the 1990’s and rezoned as residential. Today there are a number of houses where the factory once stood. The park features a playground, basketball half court and green open space.
