What do a rat-fancying ballerina, a Polish vodka bar manager and a burlesque lingerie-styling millinery shop employee have in common? They are all subjects from 8K RADIUS — a filmed, mini-documentary joint-venture between the Elsternwick Classic Cinema and Glen Eira City Council focussing on the weird and wonderful stories of everyday people living and working in the Glen Eira area.
Directed by one of Australia’s most exciting filmmakers Clayton Jacobson (KENNY), 8K RADIUS centres on the life stories and fascinating, everyday experiences of people in our community, strangers you pass on the street every day.
8K RADIUS premiered at the Elsternwick Classic as part of the 2012 Glen Eira Storytelling Festival. After the Festival, the films were played individually by the Classic before every main feature.
