The Glen Eira Storytelling Festival will be held June 21 to July 8, 2018. Stay tuned for more details about the program, out in May 2018.
Storytelling is an ancient form of sharing experiences that transcends culture, language and time. When a good story is told well, it binds people and communities in the most powerful and memorable ways.
From traditional mediums such as books and music, to the contemporary such as digital art, stand-up comedy or a family’s history embedded in an heirloom, storytelling is how we connect as a community, sharing our tales of identity and our relationships with each other and the world.
Heading into our eighth year, the annual Glen Eira Storytelling Festival highlights the different ways we tell and share stories - through exhibitions, concerts, cabarets, comedy performances, historical tours, films, literary talks, open mic sessions, collaborative art installation, the My Brother Jack Awards for short story writing, poetry and photography, and much, much more.
