Home>2009 Community Satisfaction Survey
| The annual community satisfaction survey for 2009 can be downloaded below.
The survey is undertaken by a market research firm under contract to the State Government. All council surveys are published by the State Government at the same time in May.
Important points on the Glen Eira survey include: | |
 | Glen Eira’s survey was undertaken in March 2009. | | Overall approval/disapproval was 85per cent/15 per cent (“indexed mean” of 68). | | Twenty four per cent of respondents thought performance had improved versus 5 per cent deteriorated. | | Glen Eira’s highest overall score was for “interaction and responsiveness in dealing with the public” with an indexed mean of 76. | | The two lowest scores were community engagement and town planning. The survey does not differentiate between State policy, local Council decision-making and Council decisions overturned by VCAT. (Of the survey respondents, only 63 per cent thought town planning relevant and only 67 per cent thought community engagement relevant.) | | In all indicators, Glen Eira was rated higher than or similar to our group of 15 councils. |
|
|
| In reading respondents’ comments, please bear in mind the number of respondents. For example, on page 20, 40 per cent said that there needed to be more enforcement of animal local laws. That was 40 per cent of 53 respondents which is 21 people. | |
