The Member for Hotham and Federal Trade Minister The Hon. Simon Crean MP today announced that the Federal Government will provide $10 million toward the construction costs of the Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC).

The funds are being provided from the Federal Government's $1/2 billion stimulus package for local government infrastructure projects. Glen Eira understands that there were $2 billion worth of bids from across Australia for the $1/2 billion on offer from the Government.

Building GESAC will create 132 construction jobs.
