Call-out for community voices

Published on 11 December 2017

Glen Eira City Council is seeking 400 voices from across the community to be part of an online community panel — Glen Eira Community Voice.

Glen Eira Community Voice will help Council improve the way it engages and listens to the community.

This is not your usual one-off consultation, but an opportunity to have ongoing, regular input on a range of topics and issues — all from the comfort of your home.

Glen Eira Mayor Cr Tony Athanasopoulos said to ensure the whole community is represented, Glen Eira Community Voice requires voices from a cross-section of everyday people.

“This is an opportunity to have ongoing input to Council on a range of local issues and projects — even those that may not directly impact you,” he said.

“It’s important for Council to hear perspectives from our whole community.”

Cr Athanasopoulos said members of Glen Eira Community Voice will be invited to respond to approximately eight online surveys or discussion forums each year.

“Information provided will then help Council to better understand community views and to make important decisions about the City's future,” he said.

Anyone can participate as long as you are a Glen Eira resident and over the age of 18. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary.

The online registration is quick and easy, and you can opt out at any time. Expressions of interest must be received by Wednesday 31 January. Visit or contact Council’s Community Planning and Engagement Team on 9524 3333
