Recycling

Recyclable materials are collected fortnightly on the same day as household garbage.

Ensure you flatten cardboard boxes and plastic bottles to fit more into your bin. Additional bins can be obtained for a small annual fee. To arrange an additional residential recycling bin contact us on 9524 3333.

These items should be placed into your recycling bin

• glass bottles and jars;
• milk and juice cartons;
• cardboard and paper (including pizza boxes and books;)
• newspapers, magazines and advertising material; 
• telephone books, letters, envelopes (leave plastic windows in) and office paper;
• metal (tins and cans, aerosols and clean foil;) and
• hard plastics (bottles and containers, including plant pots smaller than 10cm in diameter) and plastic toys).

Check your laundry, bathroom and kitchen!

These items should not be placed into your recycling bin:

• broken plates and drink glasses
• polystyrene foam (cups or trays)
• waxed cardboard;
• cardboard contaminated with food (pizza boxes are usually ok to recycle);
• nappies;
• hazardous liquids or chemical waste;
• paint, pesticides, oil or solvents;
• motor oil or containers;
• syringes; 
• plastic bags;
• light globes;
• gas cylinders;
• green waste;
• Food.

Non-residential commercial properties

We can provide a fortnightly recycling serve for non-residential commercial properties. Each recycling bin is charged at $45.10 per year, which is a much lower cost than a garbage bin ($314.60 per year). Recycling ensures that valuable resources are  reused and reduces greenhouse emissions from landfill.
