Free e-waste collection service

Our free e-waste collection days make it easier to dispose of electronic waste (e-waste) such as computer screens, keyboards and televisions.

Although only a small fraction of total waste, according to Clean Up Australia statistics, e-waste is one of the fastest growing contributors to our waste stream. The replacement of old televisions and increased turnover of electronic devices such as mobile phones and computers are all contributing to the growth in e-waste volumes.

E-waste contains a range of materials including plastic, lead, copper, gold, platinum and rare earth metals. Ninety-eight percent of e-waste is recyclable.

Why divert electronic waste from landfill?

•  to reuse scarce and valuable non-renewable resources; 
•  to reduce greenhouse emissions; and 
•  to reduce the burden on our landfills.

The following items will be accepted:

•  televisions;
•  video players or DVDs;
•  stereos or hi-fi equipment;
•  microwaves;
•  desktop computers or laptops;
•  monitors;
•  keyboards;
•  scanners or printers;
•  modems;
•  photocopiers;
•  fax machines;
•  gaming consoles;
•  power adapters;
•  small electrical household goods – vacuum cleaners, electric frypans or woks, irons, slow cookers, rice cookers, toasters, toaster ovens, sandwich makers, bread makers, kettles, coffee machines, blenders, juicers, food processors, hairdryers and alarm clocks;
•  telephones or mobiles;
•  batteries;
•  cameras; and
•  small power tools – angle grinders, jigsaws, electric saws and drills.

The following items will not be accepted:

•  smoke detectors;
•  x-ray equipment;
•  hazardous materials;
•  ovens or range hoods; and
•  white goods.

Please note:

• This collection is for the general public and small business only;
• Large quantities will not be accepted;
• For your safety, please remain in your vehicle at the drop off site; and
• It is your responsibility to delete any data from your devices.
