The Health and Wellbeing Program is designed to assist employees to improve their general wellbeing and self-confidence. Current and past initiatives of the program include: monthly newsletter, Walk to Work Day, the Heart Power Program, International Women’s Day, Men’s Health Lunch, Over 50’s Workshops and Lifestyle Matters.

The Social Club Committee runs a range of events throughout the year including the monthly Happy Hour, winter soup kitchen, pancake day, movie nights and much more. All employees are welcome to join.

Employees are nominated by co-workers and supervisors for displaying outstanding achievement in our four key values: customer service; initiative; teamwork; and leadership. Employees are recognised at a ceremony and receive a certificate, badge and set of glasses.
Employees are also recognised for their loyal and outstanding years of service with Glen Eira City Council in an annual ceremony. Employees who have reached 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 years plus receive a badge, certificate and small gift as an appreciation for their efforts.
