On behalf of the Commonwealth Government, Glen Eira City Council holds a number of ceremonies each year. Ceremonies are held in the Glen Eira Town Hall in Caulfield. The Mayor of Glen Eira hosts the ceremonies, attended by key speakers representing Federal and State Parliament. Ceremonies run for about one hour. DIAC assesses the applications for citizenship and forwards the names of successful applicants on to Council. DIAC determines which applicants will attend each of the Citizenship ceremonies.

How will I know when I should attend a ceremony? If your citizenship application is successful, DIAC will write to you, advising of the details (date, time and place) of the citizenship ceremony to be held at Glen Eira Town Hall, as well as the paperwork you should bring for identification. If you are unable to attend the ceremony on the advised date, you will need to contact the Department to make them aware as soon as possible. What time do the ceremonies start and how long do they last for? Ceremonies commence at 8pm and concludes around 9pm, It is asked that you arrive no later than 7.30pm to register your name and obtain your seat number. Seating for the people being naturalised is numbered and marked with the person’s name. This is to facilitate the smooth running of the ceremony. Note: The Austrailia Day ceremony commences at 10am.
