Maternal and child health

Provides a free confidential service for families with children aged birth to six years. All new births in Victoria are referred to their local Maternal and Child Health centre. A nurse will contact all new parents to arrange a visit.

Services offered

Support to families adjusting to parenthood;
Growth and develop assessment for children;
New parent groups;
Maternal health;
Breastfeeding and nutrition support; and
Outreach and enhanced support.

Hours of operation

The service is available Monday to Friday. With some centres offering extended hours, evening sessions and Saturday morning.
