Public transport

There are a number of public train, tram and bus services operating within Glen Eira. Information about these services including a useful trip planner is available from Public Transport Victoria's website.   

Train services

  • Frankston line — includes Caulfield, Glen Huntly, McKinnon, Ormond, Bentleigh and Patterson stations
  • Pakenham line — includes Caulfield, Carnegie, Murrumbeena and Hughesdale stations 
  • City to Sandringham line — includes Balaclava, Elsternwick, Ripponlea and Gardenvale stations

  • Tram No. 3 East Malvern to Melbourne — via Balaclava Road
  • Tram No. 5 Malvern to Melbourne — via Dandenong Road 
  • Tram No. 64 East Brighton to Melbourne via Hawthorn and Dandenong Roads 
  • Tram No. 67 Carnegie to Melbourne — via Glen Huntly and St Kilda Roads 
  • Tram No. 16 Kew to St Kilda beach — via Glenferrie, Dandenong, Hawthorn and Balaclava Roads

Bus services

  • Route 220 or 605 Gardenvale to Melbourne — Kooyong Road, Clarence Street and Orrong Road (via Prahran) 
  • Route 216 Brighton to Melbourne — Hotham St (via Prahran) 
  • Route 219 Gardenvale to Melbourne — North Rd (via Nepean Hwy) 
  • Route 605 Gardenvale to Melbourne — Kooyong Road (via Armadale and Toorak) 
  • Route 623 St Kilda to Glen Waverley — Glen Eira, Booran, Neerim, Koornang and Dandenong Roads (via Chadstone) 
  • Route 627 Elsternwick to Chadstone — Orrong Road, Clarence Street, Dover Street, and Booran, North, Katandra, Leila, Koornang, Corrigil and Kangaroo Roads
