Autism information session for parents and carers
For parents and carers of children three to eight years.
This session provides a foundation understanding of the autism spectrum.
Participants will learn some key strategies that assist children on the autism spectrum, which participants can integrate into their daily practice.
- What is autism spectrum?
- Recent changes to the diagnostic criteria.
- Sensory processing differences and the impact these have.
- Key strategies that can assist children on the autism spectrum, with examples of how they are used.
Amaze is the peak body in Victoria for people with autism, their families and supporters. It raises awareness and influences positive change for people with autism spectrum and their families/supporters and provides independent, credible information and resources to individuals, families, professionals, government and the wider community. Currently, one in every 100 people is diagnosed with autism (four times as many boys as girls).
