Volunteer recognition

Volunteers play an important role in the health and wellbeing of the local community. Within the City of Glen Eira there are many volunteers who contribute to improving the quality of community life through a variety of organisations.

Each year Council says thank you and publicly honours the efforts of our volunteers by holding a ceremony during National Volunteer Week. This year the ceremony will be held between 8 and 14 May.

Not for profit community based groups and organisations are encouraged to nominate people they would like to recognise for their volunteering contribution. You can nominate a person in one of seven categories; 500, 1000 or 2000 hours of service, or for a special award acknowledging either 10, 20, 30 or 40 years of continuous voluntary service.

The program commences on Wednesday 1 February and closes Friday 10 March.

Guidelines along with instructions for online applications are available to download below.

Please follow the instructions to register your organisation for access to the nomination form available on the SmartyGrants website at https://gleneira.smartygrants.com.au/.

In keeping with the Privacy Act 2000, we request that you obtain permission from the person you are nominating prior to providing their personal details.
