Volunteer recognition

Volunteers play an important role in the health and wellbeing of the local community. Within the City of Glen Eira there are many volunteers who contribute to improving the quality of community life through a variety of organisations and groups.

Organisations/groups that are not-for-profit and provide community-based services are encouraged to nominate volunteers across seven categories; 500, 1,000 or 2,000 hours of service, or for a special award acknowledging either 10, 20, 30 or 40 years of continuous voluntary service.

Council will thank and publicly celebrate our volunteers at an event held during National Volunteer Week, this year from 21–27 May.

The program commences on Thursday 1 February 2018 and closes Friday 9 March at 5pm.

Guidelines along with instructions for the online nomination form are available to download below.

Please follow the instructions to register your organisation for access to the nomination form, available on the SmartyGrants website at https://gleneira.smartygrants.com.au/

In keeping with the Privacy Act 2000, we request that you obtain permission from the person you are nominating prior to providing their personal details.

Please note that nominations strictly close on Friday 9 March at 5pm.
